The St. Roman MonasteryThe St. Roman Monastery at 20 kilometers from Kruševac.

Built by the end of the XIV century, on the foundations of a church from the IX century, as one of the more modest memorials from the time of Despot Stefan Lazarević.

The church is one of the oldest religious buildings, dedicated to St.Roman, a pupil ofthe Ohrid school of St. Kliment, who spread Christianity in this area, together with St. Nestor.

The present iconostasis was put up in 1927. It is a work of the Russian painter Andrei Bicenko.

In the churchyard, there is a monument to Rajevski, whose remains were moved to Russia at the beginning of the XX century. Nikola Nikolaevitch Rajevski took part in the war on the side of the Serbian army. He was killed in 1876. in a battle on Gornji Adrovac. Count Raievski inspired Lav Tolstoj to create the character of Vronski in his novel ” Ana Karenina “.
