Being built in the ornate ethno manner of Vojvodina, it presents a pleasant and comfortable place to make a stop.

Besides with a warm welcome you are also expected with a swift and cordial service.

The menu is, besides various domestic natural drinkables, offering first – class berbecue and fish specials of the good old cuisine of Banat.

The capacity of the restaurant counts 60 persons of the indoor and 90 persons of its pleasants garden’ s room, each one arranged in consist of various dishes and specialties of Vojvodina’ s and Europe’ s cuisine as well. 

Since the restaurant is located in the very center of the town, near the Gallery, both visitors and tourists may at any time enjoy in very tasteful national dishes and highly skilled service, as well as trying an unforgettable experience.

Established in 1989, constructed and arranged in the style of this ancient Slovak house with various details of the Slovak culture. During all these years its interior has never been changed.

Devoted fishermen are attracted by the lakes of Debeljača, where also numerous sports fishing competitions are taking place.

There are hunters associations in each village, headquartered by the municipal hunters association and each February realizing their campaing ” Visiting the Foxes ” .

Mihajlo Pupin, a world – famous scientist and diplomat, was born in Idvor, so thousands of young people and tourists visit his native house, museum collection and legacy.

The Ethno House in Padina is representing the typical home  of a middle – class family at the end of the 19 th century. There are also naive art painters in Padina and a significant gallery collection as well, but the special charm to this town is given by its magnificent wells, which are dating from the 19th century.

The naive art creation of the Romanians in Uzdin is a treasury of quite masterpieces. One part of this treasure is exibited in the gallery of Uzdin’ s cultural centre.

Part of the cultural heritage of Uzdin is presented in the Romanian ethno house.

Crepaja is known by horse – loving people and its famous cultural event ” The Fiacre of Crepaja ” .

The Gallery of the academic artist Ksenija Ilijević is also located here.

Debeljača is known by its agricultural fairs, which are enyoing a long tradition.

In Debeljača, there is also the Etnographic Museum, where the tools and products of this area’ s old handicrafts are exhibited.

The handicraft of Jan Nemček is unique : hand – made violins and other string instruments. The naive artist’ s ateliers near the Gallery may be visited as well.

Vladimir Fijat’ s legacy in Samoš is a rich collection of famous Serbian painter’ s masterpieces from the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. 

Each village has its women’ s association, which is actively organizing various exhibitions of embroidery, contests in preparing old national dishes, as well as any kind of women – oriented lectures.

Aiming to preserve their cultural identity, heritage, tradition, language and customs, the amateurs, gathered at the culture centres are achieving notewortz results in the field of  theatre and fine arts, reciting, music and folklore.

The river Tamiš runs trough the northwestern, while the sandy terrain Deliblato, with its specific natural and geographic characteristics, covers the eastern parts of the municipality. 84.2 % of the complete territory is covered by cultivable soil, mostly consisting of first – class plowed fields, orchards, vineyards and meadows. 4/ 5 of the soil is ” černozem ” ( dark soil ) – the most fertile type in the Panonian region, providing high yields to the agricultural production.

The municipality of Kovačica is composed of 8 settlements : Kovačica, Debeljača, Crepaja, Padina, Samoš, Idvor, Uzdin and Putnikovo, and 27, 860 inhabitants altogether. All of the settlements are connected by asphalt roads, as well as by the railroad Belgrade – Kikinda throughout the municipal territory.

Due to its heterogeneous ethnic composition and harmonious international relations between the Slovaks ( 41 % ), Serbs ( 32, 9 % ) , Hungarians ( 10, 5 % ) , Romanians (  7 % ) and others, Kovačica is often called ” The Mini Vojvodina “ .

Pursued by various economic problems, religious persecutions, as well as lead by the desire for a better life, the inhabitants of Kovačica have always relied on each other, respected the customs, language and cultures of the other nationalities, preserving and cherishing their own at the very same time.

Some 200 years ago, they have moved down to guard central Europe against the Turkish invasion and stayed here ever since.
