Preserving its historical values and unchanged architectural appearance the Museum, by its stamp and memorandum, emphasizes the fact that it is placed within the building where the first secondary school in Prijepolje started work.

The museum in Prijepolje was officially opened on June 15, 1991 with a permanent museum exhibition called ” Prijepolje in the Past “. This very rich and complex museum exhibition includes archeology, history and ethnology sections the framework of which is represented by exhibits from the important ancient locality of Kolovrat such as: golden earrings, fibulas, glass and medieval ceramics as well as the stone plastics of Mileševa and Davidovica monasteries.

The traditional folk culture is shown in specimens of costumes, dishes, carpets, gadgets and helping devices from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. All significant historical dates, rebellions, wars and migrations as shown in various exhibits speak about the turbulent history of this region.

The museum in Prijepolje has the status of a regional museum and by the projects accomplished in the field of protection and by great artistic projects organized within the gallery it gained the reputation of the most important cultural institution in the southwest of Serbia. For that reason a visit to Prijepolje enables all target groups to experience an unforgettable walk through the past and to get acquainted with the civilizations of Rome, Byzantium, Orthodoxy and Islam that in these territories lived for centuries and still live today too.

Within the newly built part of the museum there is a constant exhibition devoted to the most famous citizen of Prijepolje the world known basket ball player Mr. Vlade Divac. The sports medals he has won, sports equipment and photos from basketball matches illustrate the memorable sports career of one of iln greatest world athletes.

The museum is located in the center of the town next to the town market and municipality building of Prijepolje.

Priboj Country Museum

The basic activity of the Museum is the studying, collecting, preserving, and presenting of artistic – historical objects belonging to the cultural heritage of the region of Priboj.

Its work is organized through the following departments: Archeology, Ethnography, Art and History, Library of Professional Literature, and Conservation Workshop.

The Art Dept includes a separate part presenting a legacy with a gallery of Nadežda Nada Vitorović, and the Ethnography Dept presents a legacy of Professor Vujica Jevdjević with the Town Hall.

The Museum is located in old Priboj, on Brijeg, in the Stevanović house and on Zelenac in the Jevdjević house.

The number and value of the exhibits, the museum is classified in the ten leading institutions of its kind in the world.
The museum keeps more than 200 aircraft, 130 air – engine, many radars, missiles, aircraft equip­ment, more than 20,000 books and technical docu­mentation and more thaifi 200,000 photos.

Within the museum there is a universal cinema hall with 120 seats, specia­lized gift shop, model aviation and literatu­re. The exhibition and around the museum building, set over 50 types of the original aircraft, hydro planes, helicopter and boat.

During the period 1898 – 1942, the Museum and Library in Vršac had operated as a single, integrated institution. Felix Milleker was the very first and long standing custodian of this respectable cultural institution.  In 1947 this temple of culture branched off into two independent institutions – the Town Museum and the Town Library of Vršac.

Today, the Town Museum of Vršac is a rich repository of our archaeological, natural history and art heritage. This Museum prides itself in possessing a number of memory collection, such as ” The Memory of Paja Jovanović ” , ” The History of Health Care in Banat ” and the legacy of painter Zoran Petrović. These collections are displayed in the old ” Pharmacy on Stairs ” .

” Wax figures of Serbia “

We wanted to make a time machine, a frozen picture of the time we live in.

Beside the exhibits, wax figures, there are also iriginal costumes, weapons, copies of rare books, models of monasteries and war flags.
We wanted to present the time and the surrounding in which the great people of Serbia have lived and worked.

The National Museum belongs to the category of complex museum institutions, with native character and, through its investigation work, it covers the territory of Central Banat. Inside the collection of the five museum departments, morethan 33.000 museum subjects are placed. Since 2005 the National Museum in Zrenjanin is disposing with 3 exposition rooms in the ground floor of the building, where thematic expositions are presented: salon, Small salon and museum lobby.

Zrenjanin National museum was declared as The Best Museum in Serbia in 2006, due to the high number of visitors more than 85.OOO, due to 34 expositions organized and the renovation of the steady mass postulate. From January till December 2007, 30 expositions were realized in the Zrenjanin National Museum, which, together with the steady mass postulate, were visited by 82.649 vitors.

 
Steady mass postulate

On the first floor of the National museum visitors have the opportunity to givе a look at art department of the steady mass postulate that contains two segments: fine and natural art.

The collection of fine art represents one of the most valuable collections in Vojvodina. Special еntirety of  the steady mass postulate represents the legacy of Uroš Predić, Paulina Sudarski, Tivadar Vanjeka, Zlata Markov Baranji, Ljubica Tapavicki a.o. The Collection of natural art contains articles collected from the foundation of the museum in 1906.

 
The ethnological part of the steady postulate contains five rooms where village interior from the ending of century XIX and beginning of century XX is presented and in the other rooms there are the costumes of people and nationalities from Central Banat, articles linked to village handcraft, agriculture and cattle – breeding. A part of the historical department ” Zrenjanin ( Veliki Bečkerek, Petrovgrad ) from the beginning of the last quarter century XIX till the end of the first half of century XX ” presents and shows ( on museum – like principles and praxis ) the economic, social, political, cultural, in one word the public life in actual Zrenjanin.

The Krajina Museum was founded in 1934.

 In its fund there is about 15000 items, of which 3500 in continual exhibitions at three representative objects: Archeological Museum, the Museum of Hajduk Veljko and the House of Stevan St. Mokranjac.
 

THE MUSEUM OF HAJDUK VELJKO ( TODORČETOV KONAK )

The oldest townhouse in Negotin, known also as the doss house of duke Todorče, was built in mid – nineteenth century.
Since 1997, it bears the name of the legendary defender of Negotin, Hajduk Veljko.
The Museum’ s gallery is located on the ground floor of the house.

 THE HOUSE OF STEVAN ST. MOKRANJAC

Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac was a Serbian composer and musical pedagogue, a classic of Serbian music, its most prominent figure on transition from the 19th to the 20th century, credited for the introduction of Serbian national spirit in artistic music.

He was born on 9th of January, 1856 in Negotin. Mokranjac dedicated a large part of his opus to the orthodox spiritual music, mostly based on the traditional chants of Serbian church chanting.

In these buildings, in the autumn of 1941 the general headquarters of NOPOJ and the Central Committee of KPJ were placed there, and underground, in the rooms of so – called ” Trezor ” ( vaults ) , was the public shelter and partisan ammunition and arms factory.

Museum was founded in 1947 and the activities were based on collecting and studying material significant for cultural and political history of the town and surrounding. Today there are about 70.000 musicological units in the collections and depots of this museum. The buildings of national Museum are under protection of the government as an estate of cultural significance. The visitors can see two permanent museum exhibitions and the Legacy of the painter Mihailo Milovanović, and from time to time there are interesting thematic exhibitions. The Display of Museum of Uprising of 1941 scopes the period from March 1941 in Yugoslavia till the fall of Republic of Užice. The permanent exhibition Užice Foundation and Development includes period since pre -   history up to the modern times.

Legacy of the painter Mihailo Milovanović, the first academy painter from Užice, includes 15 paintings ( oil on canvas ), photographs, documents, medals and the parts of the home furniture from the heritage of the Milovanovićs family. For this Legacy, national Museum Užice was awarded the greatest museum award – prize Mihailo Valtrović.
